I love being a baby photographer for Gloucester and Cheltenham area. I meet so many lovely families that are entering into a new exciting chapter of their lives.
I met Baby Albert back in July when he came to my Gloucester studio for his first photo shoot. At the very young age of 9 days and weighing 8lb 11oz he already had a great character, was so alert, a right little fidget and so adorable!
Babies are little human beings with individual characters, expressive facial features and their own unique sounds. Some babies visit my Gloucester studio milk drunk and chilled, others are very alert and interested in their surroundings. It is important for me to recognising their mood on the day of their photography session and bespoke my sessions accordingly, to get the best out of the shoot. This keeps the environment calm and relaxed for both baby and parents.
Understanding Albert’s mood and making him feel safe and secure was paramount. He loved being wrapped and all snug, but when it came to the unwrapped shots he became unsettled. I decided that it was best to let Albert settle into a position that he preferred, to make him feel safe and settled. He chose laying on his back. It became a very cute image. By simply placing his blanket over him the photo became sentimental, as his older brother also used this lovely blanket when he was a baby.
Albert loved being wrapped
I am so pleased with the below images. Albert did so well and braved the unwrapped look, wearing an extremely cute sleepy top knot hat.
We ended the session with Albert all snug again, wrapped and placed in a crate.
